History of the Clapping Song.

The song we have decided to choose for our music video is called 'Snap Clap' by Icona Pop, which is a modern twist on the American 'Clapping Song' (See vid below)

It was originally written by Lincoln Chase. However, some of the lyrics were borrowed from 'little rubber dolly' and they also feature instructions of a clapping game.

Before a lot of technology was founded, children used to play clapping games to entertain themselves. They found it fun- this is something that I think we can reflect in our video and we can also add some clapping shots to represent this and stylise the clapping game being used in a pop song. 
The chorus in our song is repeated over and over and this is also like the clapping game.
